I recently caught up with Mike Mottola, who handles the Talent Relations for My Protect Kit — an amazing company founded by Darin Milman and Doron Katz, which started during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hi Mike, really nice to meet you and find out more about your company ‘My Protect Kit’. When did it all begin and how did you start working with them?
I’ve known Darin (the CEO and Founder) since I was 20 years old and was excited to join him in this company. My Protect Kit began when the world needed protection during a pandemic like no other. A team of entrepreneurs, designers, suppliers and more, realized that the world needed a solution to the PPE crisis. With more than 25 years of business experience, our team wanted to fit as much protection as possible in the smallest most convenient, re-sealable bag.
How has everything been since the pandemic started? I can imagine there would be more of a demand for your kits/supplies especially during this time:
It’s been a long journey, but an enjoyable one! Currently we are in Quiktrip, a mid-western based company and the product is selling wonderfully. We’re talking to all the airlines, schools, and hopefully charities and influential people with organizations, that help people affected by the coronavirus.
What has been one of the most rewarding experiences with the company so far and what has stayed with you the most?
The most rewarding for me, is that I wake up every day excited about this company and I’m never giving up on it! I push through the obstacles in front of me and do my best to convey the message of this wonderful company: that we are here to help the economy and the people to get moving again — with protection in mind, of course.
During this time, how has My Protect Kit been involved with the pandemic demands and how have supplies and turn around been? I know at the beginning of Covid, there was some back and forth information about there not being enough safety supplies and equipment for hospitals etc:
We are able to produce a million units a day, so thankfully not having enough protection and safety is not an issue for us!
What projects is the company currently working on?
We are currently in talks with Walgreens and are starting to work with Nate Robinson, a legendary pro basketball player with over 2 million followers on Instagram.
What would be an ideal project/collaboration for My Protect Kit to be involved with in the future?
We would love to be involved in a little bit everything. We want to be build a massive brand in the protection space — and we want to provide the most convenient ways to carry protection at all times.
Lastly, what are some positive things you could share with the readers moving forward and thoughts on how we can all do our part to help others, while staying stay safe?
I would suggest everyone listen to the health officials. Social distance, wash your hands, wear a mask. Protect yourselves and the people around you at all times with My Protect Kit! And lastly, be nice and respectful to everyone! :)

My Protect Kit is currently selling their product through QuikTrip (averaging 5 units a day per store — there are 850 stores), and Walgreens will be committing to an order with them very soon.
